About Roxbury Youth Ice Hockey

The Roxbury Youth Ice Hockey is part of the Morris County Youth Hockey League (MCYHL), additionally, for those interested, we skate one or more teams at the middle-school level at Aspen Ice. We have teams at all levels and follow the rules and regulations of USA Hockey.

RYIHA offers both full-time and per diem registrations for any Roxbury, Mount Arlington, Mount Olive or Hopatcong resident and previous RYIHA members, who are currently registered with another USA Hockey league.

Additional Information & FAQs

USA Hockey

All players, coaches and some volunteers must be registered with USA Hockey; and must renew this registration every year. To do so, visit: usahockeyregistration.com.

Please print the confirmation and turn it into RYIHA with your player’s registration—RYIHA cannot permit players to get onto the ice without a current USA Hockey number.

Our teams play in the Morris County Youth Hockey League (MCYHL) at Mennen Arena.  The games start in October and end in mid-February.  There are 18 regular season games against other towns in the league, we also try and schedule non-league scrimmages against other towns. All teams make the playoffs.

Practices start in mid July and go through February. Most practices are at Aspen Ice. We try to schedule 2 hours of practice per team per week. Each team will practice an average of 50 – 60 hours per season.

The Morris County Youth Hockey League (MCYHL) offers a developmental clinic on Saturday mornings. Information can be obtained at MCYHL.net. There is an additional fee to participate in the MCYHL clinic.

Uniforms are not included in the registration fee. Early in the season we will place a uniform order. Each player is required to have a game jersey, practice jersey and socks.

Note that uniforms orders are placed once of year due to minimum order requirements. RYIHA will open a “team store” offering optional spirit-wear and other accessories/SWAG in the late fall for delivery by the holidays.

All players must be equipped with full equipment including a mouthpiece and neck guard.

Note: RYIHA holds an equipment swap prior to the start of the season.

At the end of the season we try to enter our teams in local tournaments, such as the annual Rock the House Tournament at Floyd Hall Arena.

Roxbury Youth Ice Hockey Association, Inc. is a registered 501 (c) 3 public charity. We will hold several fund raisers this year, with all money raised going directly back into our program. This allows us to improve the youth-hockey experience for all of our players.

Per Diem

Per Diem registration is available for players who play with travel hockey teams and wish to participate in our program. The fee is $30 per game and $20 per practice.

After all of our events end we hold an end of season banquet for all RYIHA teams and their families.

Discounted Middlebury Membership

RYIHA can offer our families a discounted membership at Middlebury.  The regular fee is $69/year.  Our fee is $30/year.
